Lounasitu Oy - Sprouts for Lunch
Fresh sprouts are an excellent addition to raw food. Sprouts are easy to use in salads, woks, stir fries, casseroles and soups as they are ready-to- eat. There is no need for washing or cutting sprouts or removing the coat either as it is rich in fibre.
Sprouts are to be eaten raw and uncooked. The nutritional value is greater when they are eaten raw. Cooking and heating destroy many useful vitamins, nutrients and enzymes. By no means do not cook sprouts in boiling water.
Sprouting grain and seed to produce food has a thousand year long history. The importance of sprouting as a means of adding nutritional value was already recognised in Ancient China and Asia, where sprouting originated.
